December 7th: Student Day

Student Day, in Iran is referred to as 16 Azar. This day is commemorated in memory of three students ( Mostafa Bozorgnia and Ahmad Ghandchi and Mehdi Shariat-Razavi) who were killed during a protest against the official visit of Richard Nixon the then-Vice President of the United States of America and the resumption of relations between Iran and Britain, on 16 Azar 1332 (approximately four months after the 28 Mordad coup of the same year) at University of Tehran are commemorated.
